Costumes For Our Film

Agnes:

As typical horror films dress their protagonist in light colours, we are choosing to go along with this stereotype and dress agnes in white as this colour has connotations of the afterlife & heaven and therefore relates to the fact she is a ghost. It also suggests purity and innocence which relates to the plot as, at the beginning of the film, Agnes is unaware she is no longer alive.

Agnes' Mother & Father:

Since Agnes' mother & father are the antagonists in the film, we have chosen to go along with stereotypes of a typical horror film and dress them in dark colours to show that they have a sinister element about them. The dark colours which we will dress them in will reflect their dark and twisted personalities.

Ghost Boy:

We will dress Connor in light, pale colours to show that he is unknowingly no threat to Agnes and that his intentions are good; this will contrast with the dark colours of which her mother & father will be dressed in, drawing a juxtaposition of the good and evil personalities of the characters.

Ghost Girl:

In order to converge the two characters together, we will also dress Olivia in light, pale, pastel colours alike to Connor. This will create the same sense of security and safety for the two characters as they are no threat, despite the fact Agnes starts believing they are haunting her house.

Police Woman:

As Agnes' mother & father are getting questioned on the murder of their daughter in the interrogation room of the police station, a female police officer (played by Alice) is asking them questions. In order to add to the verisimilitude of the film, we feel it will make the film more realistic if she is dressed in a traditional police uniform. This will easily state what character Alice is playing to the audience without actually needing to physically tell them.
