Agnes:
To create the overall essence of Agnes' character being young and naive, I believe a cute hairstyle, such as two french plaits, would add to the verisimilitude of this type of character. A big, messy hair style may give the illusion that Agnes has a sinister element about her, so obviously with her being our protagonist of the film we want to stray away from any conclusions that the audience may jump to based on her appearance.
Agnes' Mother & Father:
Due to the characters being the two antagonists in the film, their hair will both be styled to look very messy- adding to their overall unkempt look (grubby makeup etc). The pair are supposed to have the illusion that they have spent no time or effort pruning themselves whatsoever.
Ghost Boy & Girl:
Both actors hair will be styled very sleekly and neat in order to convey the fact that they of the rare few characters that are actually in control of their own life; this juxtaposes with the lives of Agnes and her parents as Agnes was not in control of her own life due to the fact she was murdered and also the fact of how she is unaware she is actually a ghost. Also, her parents are not in control of their own lives due to the fact they are being consumed and ruled by their drug addiction which even led them to neglect and murder their own daughter (Agnes).
Police Woman:
Alice's hair will be styled in a classic, sleeked back updo to create a professional tone which relates to her career as a police officer.
