Deciding Our Film Name

We had two possible ideas for film names. The first one was, 'Outcast.' And our other option was, 'The intruders.'

Outcast:
We thought this would be a good title for our film as it gives the feel that the movie will feature the themes of loneliness and isolation which are some well known iconography for horror films. We thought this would have made Agnes appear to be alone and would support the assumption the audience have of her being an outcast in her own home. The font of the title for the title sequence could involve dark colours and it could be faded to represent the ghosts. Also, it would show the audience what type of genre the film is. This would make our title sequence similar to that off the game, 'Outlast.' We liked the style of the title sequence from the game and could incorporate ideas from it.

The intruders:
We chose this name as our film is similar to the ghost film, 'The others.' It also represents that our movie is about other being whether they are human, monsters or ghosts, so it will keep the audience guessing. From this title they will be able identify the genre of the film as being a horror or thriller. We could use a similar title of 'Oculus.' The font of the title on this film is very bold and firm. We liked that about it because it keeps the audience guessing. It still would appear to be a thriller or horror especially on the title sequence, which we would include tense music and a lot of dark colours to set the mood.

Overall, we prefer the title, 'The intruders,' for our film as it can be linked with the others. It suggests that our film will be a scary film but the audience will not be able to guess what the plot is, so it will leave them wanting to find out more. It suggests that it could involve monsters and ghosts, whereas, the title 'Outcast,' could be about any genre for instance a drama or romance. The aim of our title is to pull the audience in by making them want more, and also to suggest the genre of our film.
