Character Profiles For Our Film

Agnes (Played by Emma Irwin)

Age: Emma's real age is 17, however we want her character to appear much younger in the film. Her character will be aged at 12 years old as this makes her appear more vulnerable when in relation to the storyline.

Hair: Blonde

Eyes: Grey

Height: 5'2 (her small height helps makes the fact she is portraying a 12 year old more believable)

Occupation: Agnes is only very young so does not have a job. She is also neglected by her parents so they never enrolled her in education. She has a very isolated and traumatic life whilst she is living.

Character traits: As a result of her neglected childhood, Agnes is a very anxious and shy person. Although, she is not afraid to stand up towards what she knows is wrong. Upon walking in on her parents feeding their drug habits multiple times in her life, it is the last straw for her when she witnesses her mum injecting heroin. She decides this is the time to speak up and make a stand against them, and unfortunately this results in her death.

Agnes is the protagonist in our film. A victim of abuse by her neglecting parents, her suffering eventually comes to a dramatic end when they forcibly hang her in the woods by their house. Unknowingly to Agnes, as a result of her troubled life as a human and brutal death, her presence must evolve in the family house until her spirit is satisfied that she can move onto the afterlife.

Agnes' Mother & Father (Played by Ellisha Summer Clapham & Jack Firth)

Ellisha

Age: Ellisha's real age is 17, however she will be playing the role of a much older woman twice her age in the film. In order to make this realistic, we will hire a makeup artist to add special effects makeup to her face to make her look old and frail.

Hair: Ginger

Eyes: Green

Height: 5'3

Occupation: Her character is a severe drug addict with no qualifications as she never concentrated during her academic career and is incapable of holding down a job. She seeks to theft to fuel her drug habit rather than focusing on a career.

Character traits: Although she is a good person at heart, her severe drug abuse throughout the years has caused her to have a mental mist over her morals and she is constantly torn between what is wrong and what is right. She is naturally a very submissive person with an addictive personality and is therefore very persuaded by her dominating husband, Jack, who convinces her that hanging her own daughter will solve all of their problems.

Jack

Age: Jack's real age is 19, but alike to Ellisha he will be playing a character aged twice his age and using special affects makeup to add to the verisimilitude of this.

Hair: Blonde

Eyes:   -Blue

Height: -6'2

Occupation: Alike to his wife, Agnes' father does not have an occupation. He was always a troubled youth and his extensive criminal record for petty theft and criminal damage has stopped him from pursuing a career.

Character traits: His character is a very dominant and aggressive character with the ability to persuade people into doing exactly what he wants; even to the extent of bullying his own wife to murder their daughter. He displays psychopathic qualities and shows no remorse for anyone, not even when faced with the fact he will be imprisoned for life for murder.

Ghost Dad (Played by Connor Hewitt)

The suspected protagonist in our film- however, as we're shooting the film from a first person narrative, little do the audience know that GD (Connor) and his daughter (Olivia) are actually the new home owners of the family house in which the disturbing death took place and there is nothing sinister about the two whatsoever.

Age: Connors real age is 17, however he will be playing a character several years older than himself, (a working father figure aged at 30 years old). We believe with the appropriate mise-en-scene and styling Connor will not require any special affects makeup to give him the illusion of an older appearance as it is not specifically needed.

Hair: Blonde

Eyes: Blue

Height: 5'9

Occupation: With his career blossoming in the marketing industry and his recent split from his partner, he requires new accommodation for himself and his daughter (ghost girl) to relocate to. He spots the good deal on the house and, unfazed by the murder blown up by the press, he decides to buy it and move in.

Character traits: Being our protagonist in the film, he is a very kind and nurturing person: the complete opposite to Agnes' father. Although our tragic hero Agnes suspects something sinister about his character's motives, he is actually a protagonist- along with his daughter- and therefore his intentions are completely innocent. He is also very reassuring when in relation to his daughter suspecting a ghostly presence in the house, and brushes this off immediately. He is naturally a very positive and optimistic person and never wants to dampen any situation.

Ghost Daughter (Played by Olivia Irwin)

The daughter of our main protagonist, (Connor). Olivia plays a strong part in the film as she is the one of the two protagonists that suspects something sinister with the house. She is the link between reality and the afterlife in our film, and through this gives the audience an inkling into the twist in our story line, (which is the fact that Agnes is actually a ghost, however this is not revealed until the end of the film).

Age: Olivia is aged 14 years old, and we are intending on portraying her character at the same age to add to the verisimilitude of the story line itself. Also, young children are often the link between the sinister happenings in horror films and the parental figures, take 'The Conjuring' for example, therefore we felt that incorporating a young person in our film would be adding to this stereotype of horror.

Hair: Blonde

Eyes: Blue

Height: 5'0

Occupation: Olivia is still very young and therefore does not have an occupation.

Character Traits: She is a very creative and imaginative person, this helped encourage her superstitions about a spirit presence being in the house. As well as her father, she too is a protagonist and therefore has good intentions, however is skeptical about moving into the house as she is aware of Agnes' murder.

Police Officer (Played by Alice Francis Mee)

After Agnes' body is found post-hanging, her unstable parents are arrested by the authorities and taken in for questioning. The police officer takes them into an interrogation room to try and get to the bottom of the twisted murder.

Age: We decided to set Alice's age at around 30 years old; this made her occupation of a highly respected police constable believable.

Hair: Brown

Eyes: Blue

Height: 5'4

Occupation: Police constable.

Character traits: She is a very head strong and determined individual; the perfect person for the job of interrogating Agnes' mother and father about the death of their daughter, and someone well experienced in her career to handle a murder case as brutal as this.

News Reporter ( Played by Charlotte Hutton)

As Agnes is unaware during the film that she has been murdered and is actually a ghost- certain hints are presented to the audience to show this. One of these hints is a television news report about Agnes' murder that we show a few seconds of.

Age: 23

Hair: Brown

Eyes: Blue

Height: 5'4

Occupation: News reporter employed by 'The News at Five', however participates in some fashion modelling on the side.

Character traits: She is a very bubbly and lively young girl, eager to launch her career in the media industry and be on her way to stardom. When she was scouted by a model and acting recruitment agency whilst waitressing at her local restaurant, she thought it would be the perfect opportunity to launch her career. She was distraught over the story she was covering concerning Agnes' death.
